What started as a spark in 2022 has ignited into a regional revolution. Now entering our fifth year, The ART Project isn’t just about paint on walls—it’s about the soul of the Arkansas Valley. We are a grassroots movement born from the belief that art is the ultimate tool for urban renewal. We don’t just see a blank wall; we see an opportunity to fix blight, spark conversation, and transform our streets into a world-class outdoor museum.
Building a Cultural Destination
We have put the Arkansas Valley on the map. By bringing in elite muralists from across the country and internationally, we’ve turned our towns into a red destination for travelers and art enthusiasts alike.
Our work was a driving force in the official designation of the La Junta Creative District, proving that creativity is a massive engine for tourism and economic vitality. From the streets of La Junta to the heart of Rocky Ford, we are revitalizing our landscape one spray can at a time.
Community & Connection
The ART Project is built on the strength of our neighbors. We believe in the power of the next generation, which is why we consistently involve local schools and youth in our process. We aren’t just painting for the community; we are painting with them.
Through strategic partnerships with entities like the Southeast Colorado Creative Partnership (SECCP), 4-H, our work with the La Sandia Project, and more, we’ve built a network of support that bridges the gap between traditional heritage and modern urban culture.
